Meet Our Winners
Tom & Henry
We helped Tom and Henry Herbert, better known as The Fabulous Baker Brothers, get into the Come on Over spirit for a very special occasion, Tom’s birthday. They spent the day cooking up a feast of roast pork belly with diamond crackling, German pizzas and tuna steak, all on their trusty Weber barbecues.
After such hungry work, they invited their friends and family over to join in the celebrations. And of course, no birthday is complete without a cake. Henry served up deliciously moist banana bread with rum soaked sultanas, topped with birthday sparklers to see Tom’s special day go out with a bang.
Ronnie & Nicky
For their 20th wedding anniversary, Ronnie and Nicky Smith invited Weber® to #ComeOnOver and celebrate at their home in High Wycombe. Along with their two children, Sam (8) and Isla (6), the happy couple welcomed friends and family to join in with their very own Outstanding Moment.
We were honoured to help make this anniversary one to remember. While Ronnie was delighted with his brand new gas barbecue, he says the highlight of the day was the Weber® Masterclass, where he learned to cook up scotch eggs, roast pork loin and tart tatin.
Here’s to an amazing day and many more Outstanding Moments for the Smith family!
Stacey & Tom
Primary school teacher Stacey and graphic designer Tom asked Weber® to Come on Over to their brand new home in Norwich. The couple were celebrating moving into their first house together after meeting 10 years ago in a maths class at school.
Following lots of encouragement by Stacey’s mum, a self-confessed Weber® fan and former Grill Academy student, the couple decided to enter the competition. They were thrilled to win and had loads of fun with their masterclass. With the help of an expert Weber® chef, they had no difficulty cooking up rolled belly pork, butterfly leg of lamb, beef skewers and chocolate brownies for all their guests.
While Stacey enjoyed rolling up her sleeves for the barbecue, Tom had something a little different up his. After a wonderful day of fun and food, he presented Stacey with a beautiful diamond engagement ring. She made it a truly Outstanding Moment by saying yes.
Congratulations, Stacey and Tom!
Nicola & Joanna
A graduation is a special event in anyone’s life. So how could we refuse when Nicola asked us to #ComeOnOver to their family home in Milnrow to celebrate her daughter Joanna’s first class honours degree?
The family have always been big Weber* fans so, when she saw her friends entering the competition on social media, it didn’t take much to convince Nicola to do the same. "I thought my daughter really deserved this prize, she said. She worked so hard at uni and when I found out that she had got a first, I was beyond proud.
The big win came as a shock for Joanna, who had no idea her mum had even entered her. "It was a massive surprise to find out I had won my own Outstanding Moment and to share it with my friends and family was the cherry on the cake, or should I say prawn on the barbie!"
Along with their shiny new gas barbecue, Nicola and Joanna got to enjoy an exclusive Masterclass with expert chef Tobi. Nicola got to grips with succulent Mechouli lamb and jerk chicken, while Joanna turned her attention to bacon wrapped meatball skewers and deliciously tempting double chocolate brownies.
Even the weather joined in with the celebrations, as the rain clouds moved over for some glorious sunshine.
We were thrilled to help commemorate such a great achievement and wish Joanna the very best of luck in her sports rehabilitation career.
Sue & Family
When Sue from Warwick found out about the Weber Come on Over competition, she decided it was the perfect opportunity to be reunited with her international cousins. She submitted a fantastic video entry asking us to arrange an Outstanding Moment with her family from New Zealand and South Africa, some of whom she had never met before.
‘I’d not seen my cousin since 2002 and since then he had got married and had two gorgeous children, who I’d never met,’ said farmer’s wife Sue. ‘We invited Weber to ComeOnOver, as I thought that a family reunion captured the perfect Outstanding Moment. We’ve always held big celebrations on our farm, from birthdays to anniversaries, but to have the opportunity to host a family reunion where all of the cousins finally met each other was out of this world.’
The family flew in from across the globe to Sue’s farm in Beausale, where we had put together a special celebration, complete with decorations, a brand new gas barbecue and a delicious spread of food. Sue’s highlight of the day was an exclusive Masterclass with one of our expert chefs, where she learnt to cook up Roast Pork Loin, Tuscan Roast Potatoes, Jumbo Prawns with Garlic Breadcrumbs and Chocolate Dream Brownies to feed her hungry family.
‘This was a really special moment for my family,’ Sue added, ‘and to have Weber on hand to help celebrate and capture the moment will remain a once in a lifetime experience that we’ll all remember.’
Sally & Friends
With summer drawing to a close, Sally Taylor decided it was the perfect time to get all her friends and family around for one final beach party, courtesy of Weber. The school teacher from Cornwall invited us to #ComeonOver to the glorious Porth Beach in Newquay. How could we refuse?
The picturesque location is one of Sally’s favourite local spots, just minutes away from the family home she shares with her husband and two children. Along with loads of food, drinks, decorations and a brand new gas barbecue for her to keep, Sally, along with her friend Vanessa, also enjoyed an eye-opening Masterclass with an expert chef. She learned how to whip up everything from Smoked Scotch Eggs and Mechoui Lamb, to Jumbo Prawns with Garlic Breadcrumbs and Chocolate Dream Brownies on the barbecue.
‘I never imagined I would be making dishes such as scotch eggs and chocolate brownies from scratch by the sea,’ said Sally, ‘but they were really simple and so delicious. Everyone was really impressed.’
As the sun went down, the fire pit and blazing torches were burning bright as the celebrations were in full swing. It was a privilege to be part of such a wonderful Outstanding Moment and provide the perfect toast to the end of a great summer.
